Running the Numbers

Comedian Stephen Wright once quipped that "42.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot." And while that sounds like a fairly good estimate to us, we promise that we didn't invent any of the numbers on this page. We may have rounded things off a bit, but that's about the extent of it.

So we hope that you enjoy marvelling at some of these numbers as much as we do - 23 miles of duct tape?! - and that you'll do your best to scale as many of the 10,000+ routes and boulder problems that we set each year.

While you're working on that, we'll do our best to continue bringing you the best climbing and fitness experience that we possibly can. And although the statisitics can be interesting and even bring out a smile, in the end it's not the numbers that are important to us. Ultimately, for us it boils down to creating a fun, safe, supportive and enthusiastic environment in which people have the chance to challenge and enjoy themselves.

So we'll look for you cranking a bouldering problem or dangling from the ropes - all three miles of them!
