I grew up in Sonoma County. Got into climbing at about age 10. Graduated from Berkeley with a degree in Cognitive Science and lived in the Berkeley student Co-ops while I was there. I lived in India for 6 months and I have done a fair amount of traveling. I am into languages and can speak Spanish, Hindi, and Sign Language to varying degrees, so maybe people who speak those can help me practice my language skills when they come in! Now, I'm living in SF and plan on someday working in the adventure travel industry. Random fact: I eat bell peppers like apples. Yumm. |
John
John is originally from Easton, Pennsylvania, the second place in the original 13 colonies where the Declaration of Independence was read. Although climbing is a passion for John, the call of the library overpowers the call of the crags these days. His goals include attaining a PhD in history and climbing big wall routes in the Valley.

I am originally from Sacramento where the rock quality and quantity is abundant. I do the practice climbing more than the kind where you use the cables. However, when I can, I do appreciate scaling mountains with my belt and clipping the wire into the snap links. The Marines commercial of the dude free climbing up the rock wall with no cable is really inspiring, but overall Tom Cruise is my favorite mountain climber. That dude can do anything.

Monica
Hello! My name is Monica and I have lived in the East Bay my whole life and I don't plan on leaving. Why would I leave a place that has climbing, surfing and snowboarding all within an hours drive? I am a full time student at San Jose State University and I plan on graduating within the next year with a degree in Graphic Design. I have been with the Touchstone family for many years, I started at Touchstone Concord now known as the DRG then worked my way to San Jose and now to Oakland's Great Western Power Co. Touchstone is the best company I have ever worked for and I hope that you can experience their amazingness too! See you around! |
