My first climb was in 1996, at my high school grad night. My second climb was about ten years later, and I've since become addicted to all things climbing. My perfect day involves scrambling up the little rocks with friends and finishes up with food, beer and... watching climbing videos! I've climbed in Thailand and Japan, but never in Yosemite or Bishop... weird.

Andrew is a native of Western North Carolina and has been climbing since 2004. He and his wife love California! They have shared many adventures throughout the west including several long multi-pitch routes in Red Rocks and Yosemite as well as a healthy amount of Grade V aid. His favorite places include Joshua Tree, Pinnacles, Tuolumne, Tahoe, Gunks, as well as the home cliffs of NC. Andrew is excited to be a member of the GWPC Touchstone family. He also teaches our amazing crack climbing clinic.

Look at that face... You can't stay mad at that face! Which is why we send all disgruntled customers her way... Stephanie is one of the nicest people around. She gave up her job in the corporate public health world and has become a fixture at GWPC. And we couldn't be happier. Stephanie has climbed all over the Western United States and is currently applying to graduate programs to pursue her passion for fostering healthy communities. She also teaches our basic technique clinic.

Mel has recently moved to Austin to attend grad school and make us all jealous. We are all sad to see her go, but will keep her photo up a liiiiitle longer as a sign of respect.
Miss you Mel!

Zev is humble, so he doesn’t really like to talk himself up, but he’s a pretty neat guy. Born in our nation’s capital, Zev grew up in the DC suburbs of Maryland, woefully ignorant of the wondrous world of climbing. He learned the error of his adolescent ways when he started climbing in SoCal a few years ago, so much of his outdoor experience is from places like New Jack City and J-Tree. Though Zev would eventually like to pursue a Ph.D in Russian Studies, he’s excited to focus on climbing and personal fitness during his time at GWPC, and can’t wait to feel up some Yosemite granite. Feel free to ask him about anything from motorcycles and computers to Russian culture and critical theory. You may not even have to ask. Zev ventures a lot of unsolicited information.
This is John and he needs a bio! Until then he will remain shrouded in mystery and intrigue.

Elena leads a double life. But it could be argued that each of these are double lives as well...Other than loving to climb, hike, swim and canoe, she also does some moonlighting as a gardener and a baker. Still yet, her main work in life is to provide personalized medical care in the form of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine and she practices full time at Berkeley Community Acupuncture Clinic.

While thriving on movement, change and spontaneity, Elena has held onto Touchstone Inc. as a steadying force since 2007 when she was first hired at Diablo Rock Gym in Concord. She is so grateful to be apart of such an amazing community of people for all these years and truly enjoys her time behind the desk.
