INTRO TO CLIMBING (Walk-in registration daily)
In this daily class you'll get the basics and become a self sufficient gym climber with one of our passionate and knowledgeable staff members. You'll learn how to tie in as a climber, as well as how to belay safely for your partner. With an emphasis on personal responsibility and the safety checks that we require at all our gyms, this class is highly recommended for first timers as well as a helpful refresher if it's been a while since you belayed with an ATC. The cost includes all necessary rental gear, an hour of instruction, and a day pass to the gym so you and your friends can practice your new skills for the rest of the day.
INTRO TO LEADING(Monthly, Pre-registration required)
Ready to take your climbing to the next level? Lead climbing is an exciting and challenging way to push yourself both mentally and physically as a climber. In this hands on class that is capped at 6 participants, you'll learn about proper footwork, rope management, and efficient climbing techniques. The instructor will also teach safe lead belaying techniques and all participants will have the chance to take and catch a lead fall. While this class is not required, it is a highly encouraged starting point to practicing for your lead test in our gyms. We recommend that you can comfortably climb 5.11a and require that you have a permanent top rope belay card. Participants must bring their own rope.
INTRO TO BOULDERING
Bouldering routes are called 'problems' for a reason: they are problematic to figure out! Come let our experienced staff help you sort it all out. In a small group setting, you'll learn about body movement, route reading, using your feet, and energy saving tips. Get training tips as well as one on one help with your projects from one of our staff members who pulls down hard.
Already taken the ICC but looking for something more? Whether you climb 5.3 or 5.10a, this class has something to offer everyone. Learn basic hand and foot movement, route reading, and body positioning. And a little feed back never hurts! Let our experienced staff members show you tips and techniques that can be applied to both rope climbing and bouldering.
YOGA AND FITNESS
YOGAOh yeah, that's right. Free unlimited Yoga to all members! And of course guests may drop in for only $15 per class. We offer a variety of yoga classes geared toward beginners and advanced. Our experienced instructors teach a wide range of yoga styles, from All-levels Power Hour to Rock 'N Roll Yoga, to Yin + Restorative. You are welcome to bring your own equipment, but we have mats, blocks, and everything you will need in the class. Check our monthly calendar for details on the style and level of classes offered.
INDOOR CYCLINGKick it up a notch with our fun and challenging indoor cycling classes! Our bikes are ready to go in the fitness room located in the back of the gym.For more information on our cycling instructors, click HERE.
CARDIO BOXINGThis is an incredible workout and a great way to get out a little pent up aggression... Learn basic punch combinations, practice bag work, and be sure to save some strength for the ab work at the end! This class is guaranteed to make you sweat!
BOOT CAMPThis is a newer class at Mission Cliffs, and it is already taking off! This awesome cardio strength training workout will leave you challenged, sore, and ready for more!
