{"id":392,"date":"2025-11-18T11:48:44","date_gmt":"2025-11-18T11:48:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/touchstoneclimbing.com\/hyperion\/?post_type=faq&#038;p=392"},"modified":"2025-11-26T22:36:44","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T22:36:44","slug":"do-you-host-birthday-parties","status":"publish","type":"faq","link":"https:\/\/touchstoneclimbing.com\/hyperion\/faq\/do-you-host-birthday-parties\/","title":{"rendered":"Do you host birthday parties?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We no longer host birthday parties, but you\u2019re welcome to bring a small, self-sufficient group (see below) if you meet the following criteria:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Everyone has<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/touchstoneclimbing.com\/waiver\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">completed a waiver<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Groups must reserve at least one week in advance by emailing <\/span><b>hyperion_staff@touchstoneclimbing.com<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Groups with kids under 13 may not exceed 15 participants.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><b>Self-Sufficient Group Requirements<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>Bouldering<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Safety first:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Adults must keep all children within arm\u2019s reach.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Experience required:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> For every 5 climbers, at least one must be an experienced boulderer (has taken our<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/portal.touchstoneclimbing.com\/hyperion\/n\/intro-classes\"> <b>Intro to Bouldering Class<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or has 6+ months of experience).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Request a falling\/safety lesson and review our kids\u2019 safety brochure at the front desk.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintain at least a <\/span><b>1:3 adult-to-child ratio<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for kids 12 and under.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Top Roping<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For every 5 climbers, at least one adult must be a <\/span><b>Touchstone-certified belayer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (18+).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Certified belayers hold a permanent Touchstone belay card or can pass our belay test without assistance.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Consider taking an<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/portal.touchstoneclimbing.com\/hyperion\/n\/intro-classes\"> <b>Intro to Climbing Class<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> beforehand for a refresher.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintain at least a <\/span><b>1:3 adult-to-child ratio<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for kids 12 and under.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re unsure whether your group meets these requirements, please reach out to our staff before your visit.
