Jen is an LA native born and raised in South Los Angeles. She joined the climbing cult after taking an intro course in college and the rest is history. Jen enjoys checking out bands, playing with babies and puppies (baby anything, really), laughing, and long walks on the beach with her pug, Meeko. She’s the friendly face behind the desk with the glasses and the hair, feel free to find her and share your thoughts on puppies!

Jess (they/them)
Desk StaffJess is known for their passion for promoting equity and access to climbing and the outdoors. With over a decade of climbing experience, Jess loves to talk beta, recommend climbing shoes, and share stories about their time in the outdoors. As a Los Angeles native and USC Alum, Jess knows all the best spots around town so ask them where to go if you’re new to town! Calling them a Chatty Cathy would be an understatement and they’ll talk your head off about anime (specifically one piece), their dog Honey, or life so say hi only if you have time to get wrapped up in a convo.

Mike (he/him)
Desk StaffMike has been climbing for 6 years and is in his 5th year working with Touchstone. When he’s not behind the desk you can catch him cruising on his motorcycle or lounging with his dog, Tyson. Mike is an enrolled member of the Ohlone Costanoan Esselen Nation, the indigenous tribe of Monterey County, and is originally from San Francisco so, don’t be surprised if you see him rocking some native gear or an SF Giants hat! Mike is always down to make new friends so feel free to chat him up when you see him behind the desk or on the walls climbing.

Chantel (she/her)
Desk StaffChantel is an outdoor enthusiast born and raised in Los Angeles and a previous employee of REI, where she was first introduced to climbing. Ironically, she is afraid of heights and hopes to conquer this by testing betas on new climbs. She loves to take friends on new hikes and is always looking for her next adventure. When Chantel isn’t attempting new routes at the gym, she’s taking her camera to the beach or local botanical gardens to capture wildlife in high resolution.

Jess (she/her)
Desk StaffJess was raised in a household of imported bottled water and in fear of indoor spiders. Now, she delights in playing outside! Jess has been climbing since 2014 and genuinely enjoys helping others feel safe and have fun both indoors and out. When not at the gym, she writes for tv shows and acts professionally on stage and screen. Come by the desk and show her a picture of the weirdest house spider you’ve found! Dog pictures are also highly acceptable.
