Former Bay Area resident and Touchstone employee Chris Bloch is organizing this year’s 7th annual Tahoe Bouldering Competition on Saturday September 15, 2018!  Formerly known as The Meyers Climbing Festival, this comp is now bigger and better than ever before. It’s got great sponsors, vendor booths, amazing prizes, and a cash purse—so don’t miss out on the fun!

Asana pro athlete Michaela Kiersch will be at the festival to sign posters for all competitors! Michaela is one of the strongest women in the country, and has made the first female ascent of multiple 5.14’s, including Necessary Evil (5.14c) and Golden Ticket (5.14c). She has also competed in World Cups and placed 1st in the 2016 Psicobloc Masters. She has been featured in several videos and articles, and is a great inspiration to female climbers all over the world. All competitors will get a signed poster and a chance at winning an autographed Asana crash pad!

“I try to mix it up every year and add areas that have just been developed along with the classic zones…Whether you come to climb, watch, or just have fun with all your climbing partners, this is the place to do it!”

“This competition is geared toward all ages and abilities and will be located in the bouldering areas surrounding Meyers, CA,” said Chris. “I try to mix it up every year and add areas that have just been developed along with the classic zones. Following the formal competition, there will be a climbers festival with music, food, beer, local vendors, and a dyno comp in the brand new Blue Granite Climbing Gym. Whether you come to climb, watch, or just have fun with all your climbing partners, this is the place to do it!”

The event is Saturday, September 15th from 8am-7pm. Check in early from 5:30p-6:30p the night before to get the best goodie bags!
