Touchstone
Climbing Series

2026

Welcome to the2026
Touchstone Climbing Series!

Community climbing that’s part low-key competition but mostly just a celebration? Check. A snack-sustained, beer-flowing, and prize-packed party with your fav crew of crushers? You bet.

Each year, we try to develop an even better way to say THANK YOU to our community for making the Touchstone fam the best bunch of crag clamberers and pebble wrestlers on this (or any) side of the Sierra.

Enter Touchstone Climbing Series (TCS), where each Touchstone gym hosts its own community event. Members and non-members enjoy comp-style climbs, refreshments galore, games, and a shower of raffle goodies from favorite outdoor brands. Want to compete? You got it. Rather just climb and party with friends? You do you.

Anything Different This Year?

Longer Scoring Window

This year, we're changing the format to offer a week-long scoring window for each TCS. During that week, choose any day you want to score your climbs, including the TCS party day. You only get one day to score, so choose wisely.

Competition FAQ

What is the Touchstone Climbing Series?

The Touchstone Climbing Series is our way of giving back to our members and inviting the rest of the climbing community to join the fun! Each Touchstone gym hosts its own competition for both members and non-members alike to test their mettle against world-class setting and crush some pizza and beer while they’re at it.

More than anything, TCS is a party! It’s a chance to hang out with your gym fam with free food and drinks and climb on the freshest sets, courtesy of our incredible routesetting team. The “comp” itself is a self-scored, low-key, fun-filled climbing bonanza for climbers of ALL LEVELS.

TCS events are always FREE for members and currently $35 for guests.

What are the Categories?

TCS comps are broken down into the following categories:

Beginner Intermediate Advanced
V0-V2 V3-V5 V6+
5.8-5.10d 5.11a-5.11d 5.12a+
How does the Scoring work?

TCS comps are self-scored. And this year is a little different since we're offering a week-long scoring window, which means you can score on any day you decide to.

You must score on the same day you start climbing — please don’t climb one day and score another!

Important: competitors can only submit scores for climbs done on one day within the scoring window at a given location. Competitors cannot submit scores for climbs done on different days. Once a competitor begins recording scores for a competition, all scored climbs must occur on the same day. For hybrid events, scoring for each discipline can be done on separate days.

Competitors are welcome to compete within any and all individual TCS competitions during each gym’s respective climbing window.

Whatever day it is, on the day you decide to score your climbs, simply:

  • Access the online scoring platform here (coming soon!) or use the QR code at the TCS event.
  • Enter your comp code  (you can look it up here if you don’t remember it);
    • 🤗 Be sure to confirm it's your name at the top of the online scorecard before entering your scores!
  • Record each of your attempts using the online scoring platform. Did it take you 1 attempt? 2? 3? You get the idea.
  • Make sure to select "Update Scorecard" before navigating away from the scoring page.

You can see the scores from each event here

Are there Prizes?

Did we mention prizes already? Stick around at the end of each TCS comp for a raffle stuffed with super sweet goodies from your favorite climbing companies! Remember, your scorecard is your raffle ticket—once you turn it in you are automatically given a chance to win.

How do I Register?

Psyched yet? Then be sure to register! Just follow these steps and you’ll be good to go:

  • Fill out an online waiver.  Everyone entering the gym will need a current waiver on file.
  • Get your comp code. Your comp code is yours for life. If you have competed in a Touchstone Climbing competition in the past, you already have a comp code. You can look it up here. If you have never competed – welcome! Registration is fast and free.
  • If the above comp code links aren’t working for you, registration hasn’t opened yet—check back closer to the date of the comp.
I think I’m ready for the big leagues! Does Touchstone Climbing offer any Open style competitions?

We sure do! Check out the Battle of Bay, which we host in the fall, and Woman Up, which we host in the summer! These are Bouldering Open Competitions with a qualifying round, finals round, and a cash purse.
