Former Bay Area resident and Touchstone employee Chris Bloch is organizing this year’s 8th annual Tahoe Bouldering Competition on Saturday September 21, 2019! It’s got great sponsors, vendor booths, $8,000-worth of amazing prizes, and a $2,000 cash purse, so don’t miss out on the fun!
“This competition is for all ages and abilities and will be located in the bouldering areas surrounding Meyers, CA,” said Chris. “There are a few of the same classic areas as last year, but I changed some areas to keep our impact reasonable.
In the past we had an official start time, but this year we are allowing motivated folks to start climbing at dawn if they want to get out early for cooler temps—just register the evening before and let us know you will be out there in the morning.
Following the formal competition, there will be a climber’s festival with music, food, beer, local vendors, and a dyno comp at Blue Granite Climbing Gym. As an added bonus, we are partnering the competition with the one-year anniversary party at Blue Granite, so we have the afterparty covered! Whether you come to climb, watch, or just have fun with all your climbing partners, this is the place to do it!”
The Tahoe Bouldering Competition is Saturday, September 21st from 8am to 7pm and is $40. Dawn Patrol crew: Check in early on September 20th between 5:30pm and 6:30pm!

The $40 fee gets you a t-shirt, raffle ticket, access to the dyno comp and climbing prizes! Just like last year there is a ton of swag to give away in the raffle, PLUS a portion of the proceeds from the Tahoe Bouldering Competition goes to newly-formed Tahoe Climbers Coalition, whose mission is to protect our rocks.
