How do I become a member?

You can purchase a membership online anytime!

Do you have an age minimum?

We do not have an age minimum, but safety is our priority. If you are coming in with a child under the age of 13, they must be supervised at all times.

Is there a weight limit to climb?

No, climbing is for all shapes and sizes!

My kids want to climb. What are my options?

Here are a few of the best ways to bring kids to the gym:

  • Check out our Climbing with Kids page.
  • Contact the gym to arrange a private lesson for your child. Private lessons are one hour long, instructional, and fun!
  • We also offer a variety of youth programs.
  • Get involved yourself by passing our belay check. If you don’t know how to belay, simply take our Intro to Climbing Class to learn how to secure a harness, tie a figure 8 follow-through knot, and complete your safety checks. You’ll be able to belay your own kids and have the knowledge to come back in the future!

How do I cancel or freeze my membership?

Easy peasy — you can update your membership online by going to My Account. Remember, all changes MUST be made before the first of the month. If you send in your request on or after the first, it will be processed for the next month.

Why are you guys so awesome?

Do you allow non-service dogs into your gym?

Nope. Sorry, no fluffy friends allowed inside the gym.

Do you host birthday parties?

We no longer host birthday parties, but you’re welcome to bring a small, self-sufficient group (see below) if you meet the following criteria:

  • Everyone has completed a waiver.
  • Groups must reserve at least one week in advance by emailing ci_staff@touchstoneclimbing.com.
  • Groups with kids under 13 may not exceed 15 participants.

Self-Sufficient Group Requirements

Bouldering

  • Safety first: Adults must keep all children within arm’s reach.
  • Experience required: For every 5 climbers, at least one must be an experienced boulderer (has taken our Intro to Bouldering Class or has 6+ months of experience).
  • Request a falling/safety lesson and review our kids’ safety brochure at the front desk.
  • Maintain at least a 1:3 adult-to-child ratio for kids 12 and under.

Top Roping

  • For every 5 climbers, at least one adult must be a Touchstone-certified belayer (18+).
  • Certified belayers hold a permanent Touchstone belay card or can pass our belay test without assistance.
  • Consider taking an Intro to Climbing Class beforehand for a refresher.
  • Maintain at least a 1:3 adult-to-child ratio for kids 12 and under.

If you’re unsure whether your group meets these requirements, please reach out to our staff before your visit. If requirements aren’t met, we may not be able to accommodate your group for safety reasons.

Can we bring a small group of kids if it’s not a birthday party?

Yes, but you must maintain supervision ratios:

  • 1:3 non-climbing adults to kids in the bouldering area
  • 1:5 in the roped area

Do you have staff who can supervise my child?

No. We don’t offer on-demand supervision. However, we have great Youth Programs, including private lessons, climbing camps, and clubs.
