• Kate

    Yoga Instructor

Kate has been a dedicated yoga practitioner for eleven years. After obtaining a degree in Psychology at San Francisco State, she decided to deepen her practice by completing the YogaWorks 500-hour training. Through her training she learned the love of alignment, precision, and the philosophical beliefs of yoga. While continuing her practice on the mat, she finds the benefits travel into her climbing. A climber for five years, Kate finds the use of hip openers, abdominal strengtheners, and back openers to be particularly important when reaching for that next hold. Her classes incorporate the use of breath, strength via holding poses, and alignment as key components to what yoga is. Come to class and expect strength, stretch, and an overall calmer and more peaceful outlook on life.

  • Caleb

    Yoga Instructor

Caleb’s first taste of Yoga came 10 years ago. Playing in a pick-up basketball game, he severely sprained his left knee. His intention was to rehabilitate the knee through yoga. Practicing yoga consistently, over time, his body began to heal. The knee strengthened and he also began to experience some additional, unintended positive side-effects including; weight loss, gain in overall physical strength, increased range of motion, flexibility, and general boost in self-confidence. His initial therapeutic goal became secondary, as he started to realize the deep and profound effects that practicing yoga brought and is currently having on his life. He started to experience a real joy in practicing yoga! Yoga can mean a union or yoking, and that is exactly what took place. His life and his yoga practice are inseparable. As he began to understand more about himself, feeling empowered to make choices, the everyday decisions became more clear. He knew, at this moment, that yoga teaching was for him…

  • Melissa

    Yoga Instructor

Melissa was introduced to yoga in a college P.E. course and practiced off and on for several years, but it wasn’t until she was having difficulties with my health that she fully came back to it. Once she adopted a regular practice, she began to discover that there were more benefits to yoga than just stretching her hamstrings.  Yoga is a healing practice, both physically and mentally. She has a background in Vinyasa and have received 500 hours of training in the YogaWorks method as well as supplemental training in restorative yoga, chair yoga and yoga for kids. In her classes, she works to create a welcoming environment for her students to explore new postures, learn new techniques, and become more aware of their breath and their bodies. Her classes incorporate a mix of yoga styles and are centered on detailed alignment and awareness of the breath.
