Welcome to the largest bouldering competition (and celebration) this year!

Bringing all the goodness of Battle of the Bay to Southern California, Battle of LA is more than a climbing comp. It’s our biggest celebration of the year. And we couldn't be more stoked to bring it to LA.

How to Participate

Citizens Category

Our all-level competition includes a newly set gym with unique comp-style problems.

Registration

Fill out an online waiver. Everyone entering the gym will need a current waiver on file.
Get your comp code. Your comp code is yours for life. If you have competed in a Touchstone Climbing competition in the past, you already have a comp code. You can look it up here. If you have never competed – welcome! Registration is fast and free.

Scoring

The Citizens Comp is self-scored and should feel familiar to you if you’ve ever been to one of our TCS comps.

When you arrive and check-in, you will get a scorecard—keep this!

After you complete a problem/route, find it on your score card and circle the points associated with how many attempts it took you to complete it. 1 try? 2 tries? 3 tries? You get the idea. Have your spotter/belayer or someone who saw you complete the climb initial each score.

At the end of the day, turn in your scorecard and the staff will add up your highest scores (top 5 for bouldering, top 3 for ropes). Easy. Plus, turning in your scorecard automatically enters you into our raffle. Once you’re done climbing just kick back, relax, and wait for the rain of prizes!

Prizes

Stick around at the end for a raffle stuffed with super sweet goodies from your favorite climbing companies! Remember, your scorecard is your raffle ticket—once you turn it in you are automatically given a chance to win.

Open Category

Our heavy-hitter competition offers a chance at the crown and a $15,000 cash purse!

All open competitors are required to attend the mandatory rules meeting on Friday.

All open competitors must climb in the Qualifying Round on Friday.

Open competitors from our gender categories—women, men, and non-binary—must place in one of the top six slots in Qualifiers Round to move on to the Finals Round.

Qualifiers will take place on Nov 6 (timing TBD). Open competitors in each gender category (women, men, and non-binary) will have.. Coming Soon.

The top (Coming Soon) competitors in each gender category will advance to the Finals Round (timing TBD).

The Finals Round has the top six Open competitors from each gender category climbing for the crown—and a cash purse of over $15,000! This round is an onsight format with one route for each gender.

Wanna help make the magic happen and get a free day?! We’re seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help during the Open Qualifiers and Finals Round at Battle of LA 2026. You’ll get a front-row seat to the action and be part of the crew that brings this event to life. Plus, volunteers receive a day pass voucher for every shift worked.

Spectators

Enjoy the beer, pizza, prizes, and games before the Open Finals round in the evening.

Free for members, $10 for non-members

All spectators must sign a waiver.
