Do your kids climb the walls during the weekends in search of adventure?  I know mine certainly do!  And so when I discovered the Weekend Kids Belay at Sacramento Pipeworks, I was thrilled. During kids belay, your kids can rock climb under the guidance of a climbing professional.

Kids Climbing at Sacramento PipeworksWeekend Kids Belay is offered between 12 to 4 pm every weekend.  You can sign up online to reserve hourly spots for your child to climb on the indoor wall under the supervision of a staff member who will belay your child.  Weekend kids belay is offered for kids ages 5 to 17, and a 1-hour session costs $20.

I’ve taken my kids to weekend belay a few times with instructors Kristin Brumfield and Luke Jepma.  During the 1-hour session, my kids get to rock climb a few walls of varying difficulty as well as rope-climb while secured to the belay.  While my kids are busy climbing the walls, I’m able to take a rare moment to slowly sip a coffee while perusing a magazine.  As any parent knows, this is a real luxury that I savor.

Given that Sacramento Pipeworks also has a more traditional gym inside, you could alternatively work out while your kids are climbing.  Sacramento Pipeworks also offers an array of fitness classes including pilates, jiu-jitsu, and belly dancing.
