Ready to take your climbing to the next level? Lead climbing is an exciting and challenging way to push yourself both mentally and physically as a climber. In this hands-on class you'll learn about proper footwork, rope management, and efficient climbing techniques. The instructor will also teach safe lead belaying techniques and all participants will have the chance to take and catch a lead fall. While this class is not required, it is a highly encouraged starting point to practicing for your lead test in our gyms. Participants of all climbing abilities may join, but we recommend that you can comfortably climb 5.10b and already have a permanent top rope belay card. You will need to bring your own rope.

Cross Fit
Touchstone Climbing and Fitness is proud to be the home of CrossFit Easy Bay at GWPC.
CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program designed to elicit as broad an adaptational response as possible. It is not a specialized fitness program but a deliberate attempt to optimize physical competence in each of ten recognized fitness domains: Cardiovascular & Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance and Accuracy.
CrossFit is basically a fun, supportive, (very) challenging and intense way to get in shape, either in a group or with a personal trainer. Think of it as boot camp with really heavy weights and hard movements. It is a workout designed for universal scalability, which means anyone can do it regardless of fitness level. Our members include First Responders such as police, firefighters and EMTs, CrossFit competitors, bad-asses in their 50s and 60s and assorted desk jockeys and business folks with "barely enough hand-eye coordination to use a mouse".
CrossFit East Bay was Founded by Maximus Lewin in 2007. CFEB is one of the first 200 Affiliates of more than 3000 now operating world-wide. Maximus first trained at CrossFit NYC Black Box, the 17th affiliate, in 2005, when it was an "an informal central park workout club". He interned at CrossFit Oakland, the 29th Affiliate beginning in 2006, the same year he was certified as a CF L1 Trainer. Maximus received his CF L2 Certification in 2007.
