Our Story

How We Came to Be

After a day of climbing at The Happy Boulders, we contentedly sat around a fire in the Pleasant Valley Pit Campground—relishing the day’s sends, rehashing betas, and spitballing future projects while savoring craft beer. A damn fine combination.

Why not make it official and start our own brewery? It sounded like a pipe dream. Now it’s a reality.

Imagined, built, and operated by rock climbers, Touchstone Brewing Company takes pride in our exceptional craft beer, delicious food, and welcoming community

FAQs

Are dogs allowed inside?

Yes, well-behaved, leashed dogs are allowed! We don’t enjoy doing this, but if your dog steps out of line, we will ask you, and your dog, to leave.

Can I bring in outside alcohol?

No, outside alcohol is not permitted.

Can I bring in outside food?

Short answer, no. We have a full kitchen that we encourage you to order from! You can view our regular menu here, and Taco Tuesday menu here. Long answer, we allow some exceptions—such as cakes/cupcakes for celebrations, safe food for people with allergies and children. Post workout snacks (like granola bars or trail mix) are also okay.

Do you do flights?

No, we do not. We believe you can have a better, truer experience from a half-pour. We’re also happy to give tastes.

Do you do private events?

Yes, we do! If you’re interested in hosting a private event at the brewery, please fill out this form: Private Event Form and we’ll get back to you within 2-3 business days!

Do you take reservations?

No, we are first-come-first-serve. If you have a large group over 10 people, please consider filling out the Private event form, and we will be in touch.

What’s your process for gluten reduction?

To reduce the gluten in our beers, we use Brewers Clarex. It is an enzyme solution that only breaks down the proline containing gluten proteins in malt, without impacting taste and foam or any other characteristics of the beer.

Brewers Clarex® is able to degrade all known immunogenic gluten epitopes in beer.

Talk to our brewmaster—Ryan Campagna—as he knows the process real well.

When did the brewery open?

We can't exactly remember? We started serving beer on our patio while the taproom was under construction. We finished construction of the taproom on June 24th, 2023, and opened our kitchen on Jun 1, 2024.

Where is your beer brewed?

Right here in Sacramento! The brewery is adjacent to the Pub at our Sacramento Pipeworks location.

Who do I talk to if I want to host an event/workshop for the public? (e.g.: Gym to Crag Presentation, Paint Night, Music Bingo, etc.)

Please send an email to our Taproom Manager, Kristen with a detailed description of your event at kristen@touchstoneclimbing.com and fill out this form.
