Great Western Power Company opened in the heart of Uptown Oakland in 2007, occupying the space of a former steam-generating plant. With 11,000 square feet of world-class rock climbing and bouldering terrain shaped around the original building, you’ll find a unique urban climbing experience unlike anywhere else. Add in a comprehensive gym space, a stacked fitness and yoga schedule, and you’ve got everything you need under one historic roof. As a part of Touchstone Climbing, a public benefit corporation with 18 climbing gyms across California, GWPC serves the Oakland community through our ongoing community support and outdoor stewardship initiatives.
