Do you love hearing climbing legends talk about their legendary feats under the open sky while sipping a beer, all while raising money to keep one of your favorite climbing and recreation areas open forever…?!

If your answer is no… we just… don’t know what to say…

Touchstone Climbing has been involved with the Truckee Donner Land Trust to raise money to Save Donner Climbing.bw-fundmeter-060515 The land surrounding Donner Past was previously privately owned, and the TDLT along with the Access Fund is working to raise the fund to purchase the land and dedicate it to keeping it wild.

“Our goal is to raise enough money to buy the 10-ACRE property outright, and provide crucial funds for longterm management, not only of the 10 acres, but, in partnership with The US Forest Service, Caltrans and Union Pacific Railroad, will help protect and mitigate human impacts on  all the climbing areas, access trails, and parking areas in the Donner Summit region.”

Diablo Rock Gym manager and speed-record holder Hans Florine is doing his part!

Hans will present his exciting slideshow hosted by California 89, located at 10156 Donner Pass Road in Truckee on July 31st, from 8:30 p.m. till after dark. The presentation is at an outdoor amphitheater. Bring a picnic and enjoy complimentary beer!
