North Face climber and pro athlete, Heidi Wirtz is coming to the bay area to give a slide show and provide some invaluable clinic time at Berkeley Ironworks.
Heidi Wirtz began climbing over twenty years ago and has traveled to Nepal, Morocco, Jordan, Siberia, Tasmania, the Czech Republic and more. From pioneering new big wall routes to making enormous ascents of snowy peaks, Heidi Almighty not only has pushed the boundaries of female exploration but she’s also the co-founder of Girls Education International, an organization that brings education to women and girls in undeserved areas throughout the world.
On Friday March 30th at 6:30, Wirtz will be giving a slideshow at the North Face San Francisco store at 180 Post St. Wirtz will be showing a collage of pictures from Wadi Rum, Jordan, the glaciers of the Bugaboos, the sea cliffs of Tasmania, the towers of Eastern Europe, and the great walls of Pakistan.
Wirtz will be giving a clinic this Saturday March 31st from 1-3 pm. Wirtz’s pro climbing two hour clinic will teach you how to reduce concerns about falling, practice proper breathing, improve footwork, implement visualization techniques, and set achieveable goals. Spots are limited for this $25 clinic. All proceeds got to the Access Fund. Interested climbers should sign up at Mission Cliffs, Ironworks, GWPC, or Diablo Rock Gym. 10 random climbers will be chosen for Wirtz’s private clinic.
