Keaton Raphael Memorial Climbs at Sacramento Pipeworks

In March, Sacramento Pipeworks worked with the Keaton Raphael Memorial to bring the siblings of cancer patients to the gym to climb. “It is a great organization doing good work, and it was a rewarding day for us to see these kids having fun as a family,” said manager Vaughn Medford. We had a great time hosting the group, and recived this kind letter.

Keaton Raphael Memorial cannot begin to stress how grateful we are to have partnered up for this siblings event. Many of our families face many upheavals and financial stressors that limit family’s abilities to explore new ways to get moving. Our organization understands that our families face many obstacles in their daily lives and children are many times very aware of the surrounding circumstances. We provide these pieces of aid because we know them to be quintessential to the lives of our families. More importantly we do this because we know that our families need someone to support them during a tumultuous time.

Your eagerness and desire to help the community was definitely illustrated this past Monday. When we were brainstorming ideas for our event we wanted to create a space where kids could go to feel challenged and validated. We can say without a doubt that our children had a great time.

Abigail, a first time climber, said “Sacramento Pipeworks was a fun yet challenging atmosphere. I loved the sense of accomplishment! It was truly fun for the whole family.”

“Loved it. It was great for the kids to get out and get their mind off the passing of their brother. Thank you for everything.”

Thanks again for partnering with our organization. Our kiddos and parents truly did enjoy a day of laughs and aching hands. Many of our families had never considered doing this type of thing, but with your help we created an outlet for them. Some of the kids who climbed were in remission or still had cancer, but even then this did not stop the children from trying their hardest to reach to the top.

With Great Appreciation,
