WOMAN UP
CLIMBING FESTIVAL
The Woman Up Climbing Festival is a celebration of the incredible women and nonbinary folx present in every aspect of rock climbing from routesetters to weekend warriors to professional athletes to bright-eyed newbies. With this multi-day event, we hope to inspire more people who identify as women or nonbinary to join our industry, achieve their personal goals, and find their community.

How to Participate
After climbing hard, party harder with free food, beer, and prizes.
Citizens Category
The Citizen Competition is an opportunity for you to push yourself in a friendly environment. The comp is self-scored and set by an all-female and nonbinary routesetting crew. There's nothing else quite like it, so come and try hard with a bunch of other supportive climbers!
Open Category
The Open Comp is for advanced climbers at the top of their game and ready to throw down for a chance at a hefty cash purse!
Open competitors must first climb in our redpoint qualifier round. The top six competitors will advance to the onsight Finals.
Support The Comp
Volunteers
Help make the magic happen! We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to judge, monitor competition lines, operate cameras, and be card runners during the Open Qualifiers at this year’s Woman Up Climbing Festival.
No prior experience is necessary—just an attentive eye, a love for climbing, and a supportive spirit. You’ll get a front-row seat to the action, help keep things fair and fun, and be part of the crew that brings this event to life.
Spectators
Get ready to cheer, support, and soak up the stoke at WomanUp! Spectators just need a waiver on file to join the fun, score chances at free swag during the Open Comp, and help make a difference as 100% of proceeds support BORP, empowering athletes with disabilities through sports and recreation.
Free for members, $10 for non-members
Kick-Off Party
Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 3pm - 7pm
We always kick off Woman Up with a party! In addition to food, drinks, and community, previous years’ parties have included pull-up competitions, panels, scavenger hunts, dance parties, and more. And, yeah, it’s always a blast.
Clinics and Workshops
Every year we offer clinics and workshops on a variety of topics hosted by leaders in the climbing industry. Clinics have included an all-day routesetting clinic led by the same crew who set all the problems for the Woman Up comp, leading, gear placement, and technique and more.
Clinics have been led by pros like Beth Rodden, Lynn Hill, Emily Seelenfreund, Alex Johnson, and Woman Up Open finalists!
More info on 2026 clinics is coming soon!
Giving Back
ATTEND TO SUPPORT
We donate 100% of the proceeds from competition fees and spectator passes, and 10% from all clinics (clinic guides get the other 90%), to a non-profit that increases diversity in the climbing and outdoor recreation world.
This year’s recipient organization is TBD.
While the event is free for members, we encourage all who can to make a suggested donation of $20.
Community Market
There’s a lot of interest in our Community Market, and we would love to have you join us.
But space is limited. So all vendors must apply for a spot.
The application will be posted here in April.
