Touchstone Climbing’s foremost core value is to provide a safe environment for staff, members, and guests. To promote safety and comfort for all, Touchstone Climbing maintains a Code of Conduct and Ethics (the “Code”), which sets forth specific policies and practices that all individuals are expected to follow when in our facilities or participating in our programs. A violation of the Code may result in disciplinary action, up to and including, termination of employment and/or membership. You may request a copy of the Code by speaking to our front desk staff or contacting Human Resources.

The Code for Members and Guests

Touchstone’s foremost core value is to provide a safe environment for gym users. To assure safety and security and provide the best possible gym experience, we expect members and guests to follow basic, common-sense rules of conduct that will protect everyone’s interests and safety. It is not possible to list all the forms of behavior that are considered unacceptable in the gym, but the following are examples of infractions of rules of conduct that may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of membership:

  • Possessing, distributing, selling, transferring or using, or being under the influence of alcohol or drugs in the workplace/gyms;
  • Smoking on gym property – Touchstone Climbing and its gyms are smoke-free environments.
  • Carrying firearms, weapons, or dangerous substances at any time, on premises owned or occupied by Touchstone Climbing, unless state law provides otherwise;
  • Using abusive, violent, threatening, vulgar, or identity-related epithets, language or behavior at any time during working hours or while on premises owned or occupied by Touchstone Climbing;
  • Harassment or intimidation by words, gestures, body language, or any type of menacing, oppressive, or sexual behavior;
  • Provoking a physical fight or engaging in physical fighting on premises owned or occupied by the gym;
  • Theft or the deliberate or careless damage of any gym property or the property of any employee or members/guests
  • Violating any policy, rule, or procedure of Touchstone Climbing and the gyms, including but not limited to those set forth in the safety waiver.

The protection of members and guests who are participating in programs and/or using Touchstone Climbing facilities is of paramount concern to the staff. Therefore, we reserve the right to deny access or membership to any person for any reason.

Members and guests are encouraged to take responsibility for their personal comfort and safety by asking any person whose behavior threatens their comfort to refrain from such behavior. Members and guests should report all inappropriate behavior to
Touchstone Climbing staff immediately.

Touchstone Climbing staff are eager to be of assistance. Members and guests should not hesitate to notify a staff member if assistance is needed. In order to be able to carry out these policies, we ask that members and guests identify themselves to staff when asked. Members and guests may also report concerns by going to [email protected].

Suspension or termination of Touchstone Climbing membership privileges or access may result from a determination by the Touchstone Climbing leadership staff if, at their discretion, a violation of Touchstone Climbing’s Code of Conduct has occurred.
