Camping Unlimited at Berkeley Ironworks February 17, 2015 | Posted in Outreach Berkeley, Berkeley Ironworks, Camping Unlimited, Outreach February 17, 2015 Camping Unlimited is a non-profit organization providing children and adults with Special Needs a full program of recreation, education, fun and adventure. Their program encourages independence, nurtures responsibility, develops competence and builds lifelong friendships in a warm supportive atmosphere of planned permissiveness. A group of campers visited Berkeley Ironworks in January for a day of climbing. We received this thank you note from the group coordinator. We’re so glad we could facilitate an adventurous day Camping Unlimited. Our group had a fantastic time at BIW. Our belayers were great with our campers and helped them comfortably climb even though their abilities varied dramatically. The patience and understanding of our belayers, the BIW staff, and the rest of the gym goers was greatly appreciated! All of our campers had fun and left feeling tired but proud of their accomplishments. We would love to bring our group to BIW again in the future.
