On September 25th, crushers and queens came together at LA Boulders for a day of cross-dressing and fundraising. It was a real DRAG!
To celebrate their annual Recovery issue, The Fight Magazine, along with La Fuente Hollywood Treatment Center, organized Recovery Rocks. The event included a day of climbing, yoga, and a 3pm drag contest, all in the name of raising funds and awareness for McIntyre Recovery House.
The drag contest, called Sissy That Rock, challenged the queens to serve their fiercest high fashion poses while simultaneously scaling LA.B’s alcove; a tall order when donning a skirt.
Joe Faragher, who goes by ‘Pickle’ when in drag, said “Recovery is an upwards climb–it’s not easy, and you might fall, but when you do just get up, slap that weave back on your head, smear some glitter on your spirit and SISSY THAT ROCK. Everyone deserves love and everyone deserves their time on the wall.”
