The Touchstone gyms are always looking to make improvements on their facilities. As part of the company’s dedication to making a better climbing environment, the walls over at Great Western Power Company are a new shade. The formerly orange walls are now white.
Russel Olsen, Touchstone’s pooh-bah, explained the change. “We are stuccoing the walls because the original coat was applied too thin in an attempt to achieve very smooth walls. The benefit to re-stuccoing is a stronger finish. We are adding up to 3/8″- 1/2″ new material heavily fortified with bonder and fiberglass to eliminate any future wearing away of the wall from smearing. No more wire lath will show through also.”
