As we draw closer to celebrating Touchstone’s 20th Anniversary, we’re taking a walk down memory lane and running to old staff members! Our staff is the bread and butter of our company, and while we’re always sad to see them go, it’s so fun to see what they’re up to these days!
Who are you?
My name is Zenohe, but I go by Z. I used to work the front desk at the DRG and occasionally at the other gyms around the Bay Area. I also coached Teen Team. Most early DRG members probably know me by shirtless bod in my teen years, A.K.A my prime… Yep.
When did you work at Diablo Rock Gym?
I started working for the DRG in 2003 as trade-belay staff. Eventually I got to work behind the desk until 2014. That’s 11 years!
What is your best memory of working at DRG?
I had a great time working for DRG and the Touchstone Gyms. It’s like working for the mafia, except without all the violence and the business is climbing… and fitness. The best part was my coworkers. We all got along, goofing around whenever possible, while helping members with whatever they needed. Don’t get me wrong. We would work hard, but the awesome people overshadowed the blood, sweat, and tears.
What are you up to these days?
These days I’m living in San Francisco with my amazing girlfriend, and working as a speech-language pathologist with the geriatric population. I enjoy getting outdoors when I can, painting with Bob Ross, and hanging out with friends and exploring the city. I also always find excuses to visit my family and the DRG community in the far-East Bay.
