Ten years ago, Dogpatch was not a popular destination for San Francisco urbanites. It was an industrial spot known for a couple of bars and restaurants, and a scattering of houses. (It was also infamous for being the home of the Hell’s Angels headquarters.) Today, though, the neighborhood is thriving with people coming from all over the city to eat, drink and purchase treats and meats. And a whole bunch of them are families who have been heading to 3rd Street on weekend afternoons and evenings to check out all the hot spots. So where should you go in SF’s Dogpatch? Here are some family-friendly suggestions!

Dogpatch Boulders

Dogpatch Boulders, in case you don’t know already, is by the same people who brought us Mission Cliffs (and we all know how much kids love that place!). Here, you’ll find kids classes (for the five and up set), parties and camps. There is a short climbing wall and a play structure just for smaller kids; older kids might want to tackle the more complicated walls.
